He Came, He Died, He Rose

He came, He who eternally has been
The Maker of the visible and invisible
On earth He always was, yet unseen
And now God as Man is touchable

The Unseen One is seen, the untouchable touched
Because He came as Man, for sinners to save
But His path is thus riddled with thorns
And some He shall wear on His skull
My King has worn the thorns for my sin!

The Creator is now by man crucified
And I was in Him when He died
I who nailed Him to the cross
With Him, before God, I am crucified

He died that death I should not see
Condemned that I His enemy may live
Love is brightly displayed on the tree
In His death, the King has brought me life

He rose, oh Halleluiah, Praise the Lord
He ascends, and I in Him
I am born again, born from above
Born of God, with no fear of death
Once an enemy but now reconciled
I, once dead in hate, now live in love

Sin is defeated, death is dead
Behold His nail-pierced hands!
He is risen, and highly exalted
Above authorities, He reigns in the heavens
Death has no sting, and I belong to the King
With a joyful heart, I hear the angels sing
Halleluiah, all praises ring

Give praise to the Victor, the invisible King!
